How to Elevate Your Retirement Accounts:

5 Financial Concepts You Can Use to Your Benefit

Sara Glakas, Black Barn Financial Founder

Sara Glakas, Founder & Investment Advisor

Investing is putting time, effort and money into something today with the expectation (but not the guarantee) that you will receive profits, gains, and/or income in the future.

Black Barn Financial founder Sara Glakas will lead a discussion on how to invest for retirement and why it's so important to start ASAP.  Topics will include time-value-of-money, retirement accounts, risks, the stock market, and how to pick the right investment for you.

This session is for true beginners as well as folks with some experience investing.  Q&A session to follow.

Sara founded Black Barn Financial in 2014. She earned an MBA from St. Edward’s University and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis, where she played on the women’s basketball team and won four national championships. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and two daughters.

Sara established the Austin Women’s Investing Group in 2011 to help answer questions about finance in a comfortable, all-female setting. The group meets monthly and has over 1,000 members. She also teaches informal courses on finance and investing for several programs affiliated with UT-Austin. She’s on the Advisory Board of the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women, a non-profit providing financial support and leadership training for Afghan women attending university in the U.S. In 2014, she won Austin Woman Magazine’s Small Business Grant Award.
