    • To administer leave of absence and disability accommodation programs and policies all employees.  Advise employees on eligibility and benefits of programs and claim procedures.  Process leave and disability accommodations according to established policy, rules, and regulations. 
      • Administers a variety of leave benefit programs such as Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities (ADA), Temporary Disability.
      • Consults with and advises participants at all levels, including Directors and Principals on eligibility, provisions and other matters related to leave programs and benefits.
      • Maintains accurate and thorough employee leave files, records and tracking reports.
      • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local law and regulations.  Makes recommendations in order to preserve legal compliance. 
      • Evaluatse effectiveness of and identifies best practices in leave benefit administration.  Develops, recommends, and documents internal administrative procedures that result in effective employee leave administration.  Makes recommendations for efficiency improvements and automation of processes.
      • Assists in the preparation of employee leave communication materials.  Communicates to groups of participants regarding leave benefit provisions and changes to benefits as needed.
        • Associate degree in human resources or equivalent combination of training/experience to demonstrate ability to do the job.  Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred.
        • PHR designation preferred.
        • Experience in administering complex employee leave and disability accommodation program in large organization.
        • Knowledge in FMLA, ADA, HIPAA and USERRA regulations; case management and tracking processes; and leave administration programs and applicable laws.
        • Skill in communication and interpersonal relations when discussing health information; problem solving, time management and priority setting; and word processing and spreadsheet software.
        • Ability to track information accurately and ensure compliance with federal and state laws, including meeting deadlines; perform basic math skills; use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases; exercise appropriate judgment in answering questions and releasing information; maintain confidentiality of information; and identify basic problems and procedural irregularities.
